The local relief organisations are forced to act. Many villages and houses in the Samburu region can still not be reached by road or only under very adverse conditions. They are almost cut off from the outside world, and fast and reliable provision of supplies for the people living in these areas can only be guaranteed by helicopter. It is, above all, because of the food situation that employees of relief organisations request the Heli Aviation helicopter - it is the only hope of providing fast help in remote areas - help from the air!
Samburu is a partially inaccessible region north of Nairobi and one month after the end of the rainy season, there is drought again. The landscape, partially cut off by mountain ranges, is characterised in many places by dried scrubland. Although in some parts there are sand tracks that are passable, deliveries of relief supplies cannot be transported over land. Recently, lorries have been repeatedly attacked and plundered, which is made easier by the poor condition of the routes and the resulting extremely long journey times of at least 7 hours per 100 km. The Heli Aviation helicopter aims to ensure that help actually arrives where it is most urgently needed. In the helicopter or by external load, in a net attached underneath the helicopter, the German Help Three helicopter transports a total of 20 tonnes of NRG 5 emergency food to the starving people in the Samburu region.
NRG-5 is the name of a well-known solid emergency nutrition product also known as compact emergency food. Thanks to the long shelf life, the high nutritional value and a relatively small volume, NRG-5 is very often used by relief organisations as emergency rations when dealing with famine or comparable catastrophes.
NRG-5 is a special preparation which quickly and efficiently supplies the body with protein, fats and carbohydrates. It is intended to help improve the general physical condition of people and to relieve hunger. Yet it can only help in the fight against famine if it reaches those in need in good time!
