Relaxation of requirements

Relaxation of requirements for holders of the CPL-A license

For holders of the CPL-A license, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation allows for a relaxation of requirements for the theoretical and practical training. The relaxation of requirements concerns the modular and the integrated education way of the CPL(H) helicopter pilot training equally. The background and the relaxation of requirements are summarised for you on the page for CPL-A license holders.

Content of training as professional pilot CPL-H

Inhalte der theoretischen und praktischen Ausbildung zum Hubschrauber-Berufspiloten CPL-H. Die Ausbildung findet in Augsburg, Wallerstein, Tannheim und Worms statt.

The training as professional helicopter pilot CPL-H is divided into theoretical training and practical flight training.

Heli Aviation conducts the theoretical and practical training in parallel so that the trainee pilots can, by means of practical implementation, better understand the complex interrelations.

and in the integrated pilot training for commercial helicopter pilots CPL-H.

Theoretical and practical flight training

Heli Aviation has listed on this side the training contents of the theoretical and practical training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H for you, for the modular one as well as the integrated helicopter pilot training.

Content of modular theoretical training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H

In accordance with the JAR-FCL regulations, the number of
hours of theoretical training is set to 250 lessons. Some
parts of this training can be completed by distance learning.
The experienced flight instructors of Heli Aviation have
prepared the theory in accordance with legal requirements in
order to provide the training in a compact but nevertheless
compre hensive manner. Here the theoretical training, partly
completed by distance learning, includes the following areas:

- Aerodynamics

- General aircraft knowledge

- Operating procedures

- Fight performance and planning

- Aviation law and air traffic control procedures

- Human performance

- Meteorology

- Navigation

- Voice radio certificate (BZF 1)

Content of modular practical training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H

The practical training as professional pilot requires 30 flight
hours (with existing NVFR authorisation) with a qualified
flight instructor (FI). This must be conducted as described
in the following:

- 20 flight hours with off-field landings, emergency procedures
  and navigation

- 10 flight hours in the instrument flight

During the concluding test flight, the technical inspection and
emergency procedure are normally conducted in addition to
a navigation flight.

The legally stipulated 155 flight hours as PPL-H are only one
component of the CPL-H training ab initio.

Content of integrated theoretical training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H

In accordance with the JAR-FCL regulations, the number of
hours of theoretical training is set to 350 lessons. Some
parts of this training can be completed by distance learning.
The experienced flight instructors of Heli Aviation have
prepared the theory in accordance with legal requirements in
order to provide the training in a compact but nevertheless
comprehensive manner. Here the theoretical training, partly
completed by distance learning, includes the following areas:

- Aerodynamics

- General aircraft knowledge

- Operating procedures

- Fight performance and planning

- Aviation law and air traffic control procedures

- Human performance

- Meteorology

- Navigation

- Voice radio certificate (BZF 1)

Content of integrated practical training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H

The practical training as professional pilot requires 135 flight
hours for the most part directly with a with a qualified flight
instructor (FI). The other part of the flying hours is required
than solo flight time. Further components of the integrated
training as commercial helicopter pilot CPL-H:

- 10 flight hours in the instrument flight CVFR

- 5 flight hours in the night flight NVFR

During the concluding test flight, the technical inspection and
emergency procedure are normally conducted in addition to
a navigation flight.

If a PPL-H licence already exists, flying hours can be
recognised under certain conditions.
