Sling load flights

Impassable terrain, dense forests, woods, mountains and cities represent insurmountable obstacles for large loads. With external cargo transport by helicopter, heavy or bulky parts such as antenna or air conditioners can be set down precisely on roofs or mountain tops, and assembled.

Even if the geographical situation does not necessarily prevent a crane being erected, a sling load flight of Heli Aviation can often be the better value alternative. Our helicopters transport external loads of up to 1.4 tonnes. The professional pilots of Heli Aviation GmbH have the experience and visual judgement required to reliably do the work with millimetre accuracy.

The use of helicopter sling load flights is regulated by the legislator. So with our single-engine helicopters we can fly external cargo of up to 1,400 kg in industrial areas and outside built-up areas. With twin-engine helicopters, we transport external loads of up to 650 kg, with separately applied for authorisation within built-up areas.

Heli Aviation also makes unusual sling load flights possible. On the occasion of the birthday of the wife of celebrity chef Johan Lafer, Heli Aviation transported a grand piano together with pianist to a secluded sandbank on the Rhine. The above picture shows the grand piano during the load flight.
